Commissioned and created for renowned Painter/Sculptor Thomas Blackshear III in 1998, this exquisite piece represents the perfect balance of precise function and flawless form.

Created as a showcase in which to display his sculpted pieces, it was shown in the artists' gallery in Colorado Springs, CO for several weeks prior to being placed in hi home.

The cabinet is built or solid quarter-sawn red oak, with hand hammered solid copper hardware and glass work by one of Colorado's finest Stained Glass Artist.  At 5' high by 8' wide and 27" deep, empty weight is around 350 pounds.  Each compartment is independently lighted with variable intensity adjustment.  Left to right between the vertical ends, the plat surface just above the drawers is solid soapstone.

One of the most outstanding pieced i have ever constructed, i remain indebted to Mr. Blackshear for the opportunity to participate in its creation and even more so for the passion the experience stirred within me to study, design, and build in the Arts & Crafts Fashion.
